AI tools, reviewed by using them

Each page answers the same three questions: what it does, what it costs, and how to get a first usable result. Free tiers and limits are stated up front, not buried in a pricing table.

How this section works

Every review follows the same sequence, because the questions people actually have are always in that order: what does it do, can I try it for free, how long until I get a usable result, and what does it cost when the free tier runs out. Pages are written after using the product, not after reading its landing page. Where a limit is hidden in a pricing page footnote, it is restated at the top of the page instead.

Reviews are re-checked roughly once a quarter, and immediately when a tool changes its pricing or removes a free tier. When that happens the page is corrected and the date at the top moves; the URL never changes, so links and bookmarks keep working. If a tool has been discontinued or has quietly become unusable on its free plan, it is removed from this list rather than left as a page that wastes your time.
